Supervisors have to make tough decisions. Many times, these decisions are accompanied by mixed feelings and controversy that can result in hesitancy, conflict (both internal and external) and even lapses in honesty.
It happens all the time; employees receive promotions into management positions for the first time, and the majority have little or no experience managing and motivating employees.

In a time where there is so much spoken and written on leadership, many have asked the question, “Why is real leadership is so scarce?” In order to maximize the talents and abilities of its employees, organizations must adjust and remove the systemic organizational "LEADER BLOCKS" in order to develop "Would Be" Leaders.
Your team might not be this bad, but we can help to make them better!
In this workshop, managers and leaders will learn to build leadership development into the core belief and systems of their organization.

As A Leader Thinketh...
"Leaders Must Know AND Show"
John Maxwell said, “Everything Rises and Falls with Leadership.” If this is true, I believe that it is also true that leaders rise and fall on their thoughts. When a leader thinks the right kinds of thoughts, they may well be well on the road to effective and fruitful leadership. Thinking, however, is not enough.
Leaders must not only know the right things, they must exhibit or show what they know. Participant managers and leaders will explore and evaluate their individual behavior (in the organizational context) and learn to deliver their talent for the benefit of the organization.
On-going coaching and technical assistance available.

Who "Should" Be In Charge?
The Skilled Technician vs. The Natural Leader
Companies have a tendency to promote employees who show the ability to do a job well but not necessarily because of their leadership acumen. While this is not necessarily a wrong decision, lacking leadership in a leadership position will invariably be a source of friction and discomfort.
This workshop features a version for the senior managers who make promotion decisions and a version for the supervisors who have recently been promoted. Each will address the dynamics involved in making these decisions work for the team and the organization.
On-going coaching and technical assistance available.

Critical Issues Surrounding Mentoring and Youth Work
There are times in youth work where we may encounter issues that lay outside the scope preventive interventions including Mentoring. Issues of Neglect, Abuse, Suicide, and Sexual Abuse are never desirable topics but they are sometimes necessary.
While primary intervention programs are seldom designed to address these issues, those responsible for working with youth should know what a Critical Issues is and what to do (and not to do) should they encounter “Critical Issues.”
